I think at one time I counted 18 airplanes on the ramp at once. The good thing was how all the competitions in the north worked together to make sure everyone was marshalled in and parked in an orderly fashion. Good thing the weather was nice.
The Grand Chief of the Nishinawbe Aski Nation, Stan Beardy's, son passed away last weekend. They and their family are originally from Muskrat Dam and the funeral was there on Thursday last week.
He died as a result of his injuries after an altercation in Thunder Bay. Didn't catch all the details on the CBC, but I heard the assailant was nabbed in Ottawa.

At least they got an airport now.
I remember this guy Harvey telling me I'd be doing our first sked into Rat Dam the next Monday. A couple of hours later this other guy named Karl confirmed my suspicions that there was no airport there. He then informed me they'd work something out before I arrived in one of our 2 Beech-99s (DSL & PEM). Sure enough Monday morning they had plowed out a strip on the ice for my 99 with it's little wheel barrow tyres for our new sched. Don't remember what they did next summer. Maybe Kevin did it with the Beech-18 on floats... Guess the company?
Had a piece of Beige n Orange metal given to me last week. The "Free Spirit" from below the pilots window - guess they were putting in a door for cargo operations - which one it this off of?
