Yellowknife

Post by CanFlyBoy »

Anyone know of an available room to rent in Yellowknife in the next two weeks. I have tried looking at the ykf trader and the northern news service. Just wondering if there are other options out there?

Sometimes B&B's arn't too expensive...not the greatest place to stay, but better than a hotel. If you are coming up to do some job-hunting, its better to just get a place right away...it won't be long before you find a job. Everyone is screaming for rampies/pilots with time. Good luck with whatever you decide to do and PM me with any other questions!

Found 4 places in Yellowknife on http://www.couchsurfing.com

Look up the region you want, find someone who might let you stay for awhile and there you go. Might only cost you a case of beer or so. Then again it's Yellowknife. Maybe 2 cases.

A case of beer is over $50 up here. Better bring it from the south.

If I remember correctly there is a Motel 8 and one or two other hotels. Last year I stayed at the Bayside B&B, which is located in the Old Town.
http://www.ruudleeuw.com/trv-canada06.htm has some of my stay.

Case = 12

Flat = 24

One case of beer is less than $50.

But if you're from the east, a case IS 24 beer. The concept of "flat" baffled me when I first moved west,but I figured it out eventually. Which was probaby a good thing seeing as I was working in a liquor store. :?

Please don't tell my mother that I work in the Oilpatch...she still thinks that I'm the piano player at a whorehouse.

Eastern case = 24 beer
western case = 12 or 18

If I catch you with water rudders down.. You owe me an eastern case! Even if we're in the west! :wink:

I dunno 24 being a flat does not make sense, especially since when you buy 24 Pils it says right on it "CUBE". A flat is 12. A suitcase is 15.
