Anyone know I can find the info in CARS which states the PPC in lieu training is 2 hrs plus a simulated ride.

Nope...our ops manual only states that we conduct "ppc in lieu of" training and what the required no of hours are. It does not state any "simulated ride" after the 2 hrs training. But I think the actual description from TC is from a circular. Can't seem to find it in CARS either.

You have to complete the required training and the same exercises that make up your ppc ride.

I think this may be the material you're looking for. In this case, for CAR 703 operations. A similar one describes CAR704. If the link fails, go to the TC site and use the search engine for "PPC" and it will come in the first couple of hits found.

Everone is correct. The Validity Period CARS shows is either 12 months or 6 months depending on the type of operation (CARS 703,704,705,) but an air carrier can apply for an Ops Spec which allows the operator to put it in the ops manual. Same requirements as a recurrent PPC except the "checkride" does not have to be done by a TC inspector or CCP. Just remember, there are no extensions allowed. If you miss the anniversary date, you are expired and require a PPC checkride.
