Today, we're no different than the early settlers. "I hate that asshole, but I'm out of wood to heat my little house and cook dinner. I guess I'll stay friends, because unfortunately, I need him... for wood... for now..."

Knock, knock, knock.

"Hey bud, can you lend me some logs?"

"Sure, neighbour." Thinking, "I hate that asshole, but I guess I'll stay friends...he makes the best horse-shoes around."

A couple of hundred years later, here we are. Same shit- different heating fuel, different transportation, different year.

I grew up in SW Calgary near Mount Royal. Have to say it depends on your lifestyle. Every quadrant of the city has pros and cons.

Have to admit though... NE has a large ethnic community.

If I had my choice I'd still be in the sticks though.. High River or Turner Valley/Black Diamond (I couldn't afford Bragg Creek or Priddis :P )

Courage is the price that life exacts for granting peace. The soul that knows it not, knows no release from the little things; knows not the livid loneliness of fear, nor mountain heights where bitter joy can hear the sound of wings.
