Any word on the positions that are available. I also heard that there's a hot little chick in the new class!

Really? Those aren't the same numbers I heard from someone in the class after the first day (the night before they drew numbers). I had heard 2 YVR RJ, 4 YYZ RJ, 3 YYZ Dash 8, and 3 YUL Dash 8. Do they ever have last-minute changes between the time they give you the first idea of bases/aircraft and the next day, when you get to pick them? Anyway, not a big deal...I'm just curious, in case I ever find myself in that situation. Good times, good times...

Actually I wouldn't rule it out completely. There are a few of us in YVR that are frozen and need to be replaced at some point and if nobody else had YVR on their standing bid I guess they could put newhires out there. They'll be at the bottom of the list for a looooooooong time though.

laid off pilot's numbers are right. -There were originally a couple of yvr RJ spots but there were numerous changes made to the positions the following day.

That would be the end result of the Jan 15 bid. which closed at the and of Jan. It is likely that pilots from within bid on those positions. Therefore changing the avail positions for the people in the GS.

Actually, it was originally 2 RJ YVR, 4 RJ YYZ, 3 Dash YYZ, 3 Dash YUL. It was discovered after the positions were awarded that they made a boo boo and that all the RJ spots were Dash and vice versa. Oops.

Do they ever have a YYC base for new hires? Also how many hours did the new guys have when they were interviewed?

4000 TT
2500 PIC
1100 Turbine PIC
2500 Turbine

Guys seem to be getting interviews with as little as 2500TT. Also, no YYC spots in the recent groundschools and none coming up from what I heard.

3600 TT
1600 PIC
250 MPIC
3350 Turbine

Done all the steps, just waiting for course date. As for YYC base, there was at least one in the January course, and he didn't want to be there. Drew a late number, and got forced there. It all comes down to where the folks in your course are from. In January, people were forced out West. In February, people were fighting over it. Go figure...
