Anyone know of a good 18 with freight door for sale ( on wheels or with the gear)? Also looking for Twin Otter 100/200.

Yeah, that was it. Not sure what the actual condition of it is now, though. I know it was only doing about 250 hrs a summer when I was in the area.

B 18 and twin otter are money losing ventures, unless you can find someone to skin an 18 and bust their can doing it - those days are gone, just a few old codgers around who are willing to take that on. An 18 has very little pax appeal, and liability insurance is pricey, not too mention finding the avgas. Oh well, hate to burst your bubble, have fun..

I'm sure the people at Kenn Borek Air will agree with you that a -6 is a money losing venture... Or any other -6 operator for that matter..

dhc 6 vs c208

Post by oldncold »

inside of a 100nm miles dhc6 makes sense outside of that
the grand caravan will do more IF fuel stops or cache's are few and far between. except for eskers really short ones!

the economics of maintenance and fuel ie 350 pd hr vs 600 + hr
gives the edge to the grd van yes the are scenerios that favour the dhc6
some previously mentioned .

the beech 18 on floats even cat would say that with 2 engines it is an air craft that when one quits -and those have quit on more than one occasion it will take you to the seen of the crash.

but for pure joy of the sound of the 985 radial on a clear may morning
the 18 is a good bird 8)

I haven't seen a whole lot of grand caravans landing on 800' eskers.. Not too good on floats either..

Nouvel Air in Quebec http://www.nouvelair.ca/ had 3 B-18 for sell, not so long ago.
They might still be on the market and all were in pretty good shape.

The one that would fit your requirements is C-GJKA
