For a good night out, nothing beats the "Yarm Run". Yarm is a town in N/E England with eight (if I can remember correctly) pubs on it's half mile long high street!
The Yarm Run was a challenge to bladder capacity and endurance.... 1 pint in each pub, with no going for a pee until you'd finished the last pint!
Never successfully managed it myself, but had lots of fun laughing at the piss-heads who never quite made it as far as the toilets after their last pint!

Probably quite a few. But Yarm is a town with a population of less than 9000, so thats one pub per 1100 population (and thats just on the high street - there's four more in other parts of the town, so we're down to one pub for every 750 people (kiddies included!).pinecone160 wrote:Should someone tell laticsdave how many bars are in Halifax? Best pub crawl city there is!
Halifax has a population of about 360000, so to match Yarm's pub:population ratio, Halifax needs to have about 480 pubs!!!! I don't think it does!
Further, York (North Yorkshire, England), population of about 180000, has enough pubs in to to visit a different one every day of the year!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Wish they'd send a few of them over to the west coast then - not too many good pubs in the Vancouver area - far too many of them are just sports bars with more tv's than types of beer! If you wanna watch tv, stay at home! Pubs are for drinking beer!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!pinecone160 wrote:Well played.... but just for the record, Halifax has well over 200 bars and has the most bars per capita in Canada. Too bad the aviation jobs are all west of there...
