When do you get your monthly schedules?
Well, there are 4 days left in the month, and our group of 90 some pilots still dont know what they're doing on thursday...
Just wondering when other pilots (from companies big and small) get there monthly sched's?
Is this the norm, or should we be really pissed?

Where I work, the schedule's like the weather, always changing around. We have a joke which I'll share with you to describe the situation.
The first draft schedule comes out last minute, probably last friday of the month. Its kinda like a TAF, gives you about an idea what to expect, but nothing too concrete.
On sunday, we get our assignments for the week, it details what the situation is right now, kinda like a METAR, but you still don't know what's up exactly. The schedule could change any time, going from sunny skies to thundershowers in an instant.
Then when your on your sched in the middle of the week, maybe during your crew rest, you get a call from dispatch telling you to get going to who knows where right away, thats the new SPECI that just came out.
That's for a 703 operation.

When I worked at CMA we could set our calender by the "Late Roster" memo that was issued on the 25th of every month (the day the roster was supposed to be out published). I think one guy actually started collecting the memos and had a full year's worth at one point. Pathetic part was the route network hadn't changed in about a year, we did very few charters, and faithfully 2 pilots would leave every month. Must need a rocket surgeon to figure out that pattern!

By 6pm the day before is the current goal....sometimes much much later than that.... You know when your days off are, however what you're doing tomorrow is a mystery.
Sched changes regularily, and usually crews will be called when there are last minute changes....usually, but not always.
