Lets set the record straight, yes pilots leave. Thats just what we do, we chase the bigger planes and take pay cut after pay cut to do this. Calm Air has those bigger planes and for the past couple years have been hiring a dozen or so in the spring. What better place to look for pilots then a company that essentially flies the same routes in Nunavut. That being said I have worked for a few of the operators in Manitoba and can honestly say that Keewatin is one of the best. I feel the working conditions are well above standard and they treat you well. They have done an amazing job of keeping everyone (including F/O's)employed during the transition from PC12 to 1900's. I think most operators would have had lay offs and flown captains together. I have felt no pressure to do anything and from what I've seen and heard things are done by the book, with emphasis on safety.
There will always be some unhappy pilots that have bad things to say about the companies they work for or have worked for, you know the old joke; the difference between a pilot and jet engine, at the end of the day when you shut down the engine, it quits whining
P.S. For those of you out there who will no doubt have something negative to say about my post, I have 4300 hrs 3700 multi pic 1700 turbine. I'm not management just a happy employee
I've worked for some very shady operators and never been afraid to say NO! Here I don't have to.
