I was talking with an operator earlier today regarding an E110 right seat position. No bond, no contract, no need for a PPC nor paying for one. Contract comes later when you upgrade to left seat.
No doubts, things have changed.

A friend of mine was recently offered a corporate job...they told him that there was a bond...he said, sorry, can't do that...then they said, Ok...no bond....they offered him $75Gs....he said, "I just got a call from ABCD Airlines"...they said, Ok...how about $90Gs...he said "no thanks" and took the airline job that same day.....things are definitely looking up....
Now is the time to say "no" to pay for training, training bonds and working for peanuts!...who knows how long it will last!

.......I won't be a private pilot much longer because one of my former commitments has to be kept, I just received a phone call a few days ago that I have to go back to Africa somewhere around July so I will be geting my medical renewed....but I have been a private pilot for 5 months......
Being a private pilot did not make me feel inferior at all ...it just meant I did not have to get an expensive medical.

The last time I did something by claiming it was for love I ended up at the VD clinic.
The Africa thing is not only lucrative but interesting and I have a lot of friends there.
Now if your operation was here in my area, sure I would do some part time flying if you would do all the paper work for TC, I'm far to disinterested to go through all the B.S. exams.
The way I figure it I managed to survive for over half a century driving aircraft so another few hours is unlikely to kill me.

I sent out some resumes and had 3 interviews and job offers in no time. Companies are getting really desperate and AC, Jazz and WJ still have a lot of hiring to do. I'd like to see what it will be like 6 months from now.

Sad commentary. There should never be a time when it is acceptable to pay for your job or work for peanuts. Pilots that did that when times where tough only made it tougher for everyone else. F$%^ING SCUMBAGS.
As far as bonds go, I really don't have a problem committing to an employer for a reasonable amount of time if they are investing significant $$ in training me up. So long as they do not expect any cash from me to be posted up front. Too many pilots take the training and walk away, sometimes immediately after the training is complete. MORE F$%^ING SCUMBAGS.
Good times or bad, be a man/woman of your word and demand proper compensation for your efforts. We'd all be much better off if the scumbags among us were run out of the industry.

It may be that the hiring will go on for some time as the people from the late sixties and through the seventies booms retire. There will likely be some checks in the trend due to world events that we all know will happen. AC will probably have a feigned downturn around the time that the employee paycuts snap back in '09.
I have seen many cycles in this business and human nature being what it is we always think that the good times will last forever. They won't but they'll be back.
In the meantime, get where you can, don't compromise your principles or harm your brother/sister by giving it away cheap.
We need to keep together on this.
A lawyer friend(tax specialist) told me training bonds are a crock of shit as the tax laws are quite favourable to a business(especially start up with new equipment no matter when introduced) and much is written off by said company. Training bonds is another source of income to them no matter which way you cut it

I am just curious... Which airline pays so much to start that makes working for "$90Gs peanuts?"
