Well I agree with you Doc that all companies should offer the same package to their pilots, enticing them with bonusus rather than jailing them with bonds sounds like a way smarter idea to me.But as for Wabusk air, there's a reason they're offering so much. It sounds all warm and rosy 'til you get up to Moosonee and realize its not a bond locking you to the company, it's the fact that there's no roads out of there to make an escape.

100 hrs on type
up to $70,000 / year max salary
- $5,000 signing bonus for applicants with current PPC on type
- No training bonds

Wabusk Air believes in promoting from within based on work performance and pilot qualifications, however, at this time we must abandon our normal practices.
70k to fly a ka, wow, nice(top out).

Anyways.. No training bonds because they had to abandon their practice of training from within and need to steal someone with a PPC ASAP...

So, now, company that doesn't bond will lose a pilot and now they'll implement a bond to ensure that their next pilot doesn't cut and run.

AC and Jazz don't bond either they just shit pay....

This isn't a magical sign.... Or a blessing in disguise...

northwings....Oh, I know where they are/who they are....and WHY. Still, it's a move in the right direction.
Maybe a TEN THOUSAND DOLLAR bonus after two years. For any captain that sticks it out? Even if they came without a PPC. Might be cheaper for them than running a "revolving" door? Now that everyone is going with 2 year PPC's?

A friend of mine got a job there just after the new year. Says it's friendly and busy. He's happy with the money and extatic with the flying time. Got a few PA31's and a King air medivac that is kept busy. The CP seems eager and comptent and have only heard good things by other pilot who have flown with them.

As for the bond at least they understand the pilot market.

Ilan I'll see you on the 23 rd

Where did you hear all of these great things about WABUSK?? the Magic MisInformation machine?? What has become of the world.
I would say to any one going up there, make sure you have a way out, and don't count on the Aircraft getting you out, and as one guy said, no roads so get a transferable train ticket, or make friends with guys at Cree to stuff you in a mail sack and free your ass. Good Luck to those answering their call!

The CP is a great guy I used to work with him else where. If he says something he is good to his word.

I agree a good step in the right direction.

Congrats RM

The hardest thing to work with these guys is where they are located!!! DEFINATELY not for everyone, if you don't mind living in a place where no roads connect to, and being pals with the people of the north... welll then you might just do well.
