Multi Rating On Floats
Why not kill two birds with one stone?
Who has done their multi rating on a float plane? Did you do it privately, FTU, or did your company train you on their equipment?
Let me know what you have to say.

Sorry maybe I didn't throw enough description out there. Already having your seaplane endorsement, killing two birds with one stone; building multi time and multi float time....all couple hours of it, but it's still a couple more hours than you started with.twotter wrote:Gotta be cheaper to do them individually..
I noticed that Aztec in the classifieds and thought of doing this. Am I out to lunch here or is it not valuable at all?
Was this a company training new multi pilots or a rental. I'd be interested to hear how much they're rent out at and how many hours each of them had taken.Driving Rain wrote:I trained two pilots for a multi endorcement on a D 18S on floats. Both had their seaplane endorcements however.

They were company pilots who were moving up from the Cessna's and the Beaver. It was two different companies in NWO and yes both are still in business today. Was this a company training new multi pilots or a rental. This was in the good ol'days back in the last century when your word was your bond, there was no training bonds or paying money up front and insurance companies didn't call the tune.
You might not believe this, one of those companies gave me my seaplane endorcement.
The time each guy took was about 10 hours, we used freight haul revenue trips for some of it.
Oh I believe it.Driving Rain wrote:...You might not believe this, one of those companies gave me my seaplane endorcement.
Believe this or not.....even to this day some companies are still good for that. I know someone who got their float from a company in the Red Lake area. All hope isn't lost quite yet
