Rumours abound that the next course will be all YYZ RJ. Having said that, they're just rumours, and it could change by the day. For that matter, when is the next course? I'm assuming April 2nd, but don't know anyone on it. Anyone know for sure?

I know they've already assigned spots for the April 16th course. There could be a chance that it's not full yet, or there could always be cancellations even if it is... That said, the sooner you can get it all done, the better. I'm not sure how long they plan on continuing courses at this pace, but for what it's worth, the instructors seem to think that they're not going to get a break any time soon.
Best of luck...

Hey,
I am in the April 16th class, when I was talking to them they said that there will be 10 positions, All will/should be RJ spots out of YYZ, with 2 outta YUL.
The next class after that is May 7th, with 5 YYZ RJ spots, 4 YUL dash spots and 1 YVR dash. However that can all change for day to day as we all know.
Cheers and good luck to yall

LOL, is it a bad thing that when I see your name as last poster I knew it was going to be some smart ass comment from you.....Flying Low wrote:There goes the neighbourhood!I am in the April 16th class

don't joke...there is a story floating around last year of an ex 727fo that went to jazz drew a -8 seat and fealt he was better suited for the RJ with his vast jet experience. He actually voiced his concern to management thinking it would change things. This coming from a person who struggled with line indoc to the tune of 75hrs plus and on the 27. Word is that his performance on the -8 wasn't all the steller either. Whats the difference -8 or RJ. Its the same pay. Once you get to this level if there is no pay change for different types you should looking for lifestyle and how soon you can hold a line.

You get what you get based entirely on seniority and what's available. There is no way around this. Seniority in your class is based on a draw.
In my class there were 5 RJ spots in YYZ and 6 Dash spots in YUL. One of the guys above me bid for the Dash because he wanted Montreal and didn't care if he flew a jet while another bid for the RJ and then put a standing bid in for YUL...he got it 2 weeks after line indoc.
The base tends to be easier to switch (depending on the base you want) than the type as the company freezes you for a couple of years due to the cost of training you.
As mentioned above...go for lifestyle. The jet thing wears off pretty quick.
