Reading the following makes me wonder if Greg Holbrooks colleauge's affidavit was perjury?

Transport boss denies intimidationUPDATED: 2007-03-29 01:40:48 MST

OTTAWA -- A senior Transport Canada official is denying allegations he tried to intimidate workers into not appearing before a parliamentary committee examining changes to airline safety.

Merlin Preuss, director-general of civil aviation, says he was merely providing a service to employees should they have any questions about appearing.

"At no time did I threaten inspectors or pressure them not to appear," Preuss told the House of Commons transport committee yesterday.

Preuss was called before the committee after the Canadian Federal Pilots Association complained about a phone call from Preuss.

Association chairman Greg Holbrook told the committee in February Preuss called him to warn that if any Transport Canada inspectors testified before the committee he would "have an issue with it."

Association worker Kathy Marquis provided the committee with a sworn affidavit stating: "My clear impression from the words and tone of Mr. Preuss' communication was that he wished to discourage Transport Canada inspectors from testifying before the standing committee."

However, Preuss insisted it was not his intention to discourage Transport Canada employees from appearing before the committee.
Forgive me for sounding naive but if that woman is guilty of perjury and has damaged the reputation of the Director General Civil Aviation and by default the office of the DGCA then we should insist that the Minister or Transport look further into this matter.

I have this feeling that something is really wrong in the house of Parliament, is the fix in so deep that we as Canadians have to wonder if there is very little difference between Canada and Zimbawbe when it comes to our elected officials and their bureaucrats?

The hardest thing about flying is knowing when to say no

After over a half a century of flying no one ever died because of my decision not to fly.
