PIC Hours question

Post by reportmidfield »

Hello All,

I am currently in the US building hours (have FAA PPL) and intend to be in Canada to do my IR and CPL.

Inorder not to have any problems i want a clarification from you on the PIC requirements for IR and CPL:
1. How many hours total PIC do i need to qualify for cpl/ir?
2.What distance qualifies as xcountry in canada, 25nm, or 50nm?
3. Do u also log DualIR flights in Canada as PIC and do the ir hours form part of your total pic requirements?

Thanks in advance

1. 100 PIC for CPL; 50 PIC Cross-Country for IR
2. Not set in stone in Canada. No official definition of 'cross-country'
3. Dual is Dual. Only the Instructor will be logging PIC in this case.

When I switched over my license all I had to do was write the PSTAR exam and do an additional 2 hours under the hood.

But the night portion is a whole different story.
