HEy guys,

Need some help with this question

A) During climb from 1000ft to 9000ft, 50 air NM have been covered in 20 mins, 30 kt tail wind component. The rate of climb and distance covered are :

1. 450ft/min & 40nm
2. 500ft/min & 60nm
3. 400ft/min & 60nm

50 air NM and 20 minutes, you can find you TAS. (150 KTAS)

With your TAS and tailwind, you can find your Ground Speed. (180 KTS ground)

With your Groundspeed and 20 minutes, you can find the ground distance covered. (60 NM, ground)

From 1000 to 9000 ft in 20 minutes you can find your climb rate. (400 ft/min)

Thanks,

Another one

aircraft weight 77000 lbs, climbing from 4000 ft to 18000 ft density altitude, the time taken and fuel consumed are :

1. 47 mins & 1730 lbs
2. 40 mins & 1500 lbs
3. 38 mins & 1430 lbs
4. 36 mins & 1300 lbs

Descending from 180000 feet to 3000 feet, the mean TAS :
1.226 kts
2.224 kts
3.200 kts
4.213 kts

You need fuel consumption data to compute that. With just that information, you can't do much...
