I found it.. from: http://www.pilotcareercentre.com/JobLis ... JobID=1727

Captain Requirements: ATPL or ATP, Canadian Citizen, 500 hours turbine PIC, PT6 preferred. Valid IFR and Cat 1 Medical, no restrictions. Foreign contracts for future employment exist. First Officers: Canadian citizens, Multi-IFR current, Cat 1 medical no restrictions.

By saying "no restrictions", does that mean you'd need 20/20 vision?

No heart condition - you should make tons of money doing that job, tons.

I flew right into a dandy storm near Kamloops with a dud radome so the radar was painting but ignoring precip. 5 minutes of near-death - major ice, severe turbulence and screaming passengers.

Have fun if you take it!

I had a little chuckle at the valid IFR part. Imagine the coversation with tower prior to those flights?

"You wanna do what"?

"Why I'm going to fly right through that sonofabitch"!

Flying through thunderstorms.

The gig is probably not as drastic as it sounds. The Alberta Hail Project is based in Red Deer and operates as an ongoing science project to try to establish a statistical correlation between artificial cloud seeding with chemicals and the incidence of rain and/or hail from CB`s.
The flying part is well organised and operates under strict guidelines-you absolutely do not fly through thunderstorms, not even by accident.
When I flew the project my ride was an Aztec fitted with electrically discharged silver iodide cartridges. We were vectored to the inflow region below a likely cloud by the scientists at Penhold. We would then find the area of strongest updraft and set off the cartridges, thus seeding the cloud with micoscopic crystals. If we found a real boomer we could sit in the updraft with power back, approach flaps and gear down, to attempt to maintain flight beneath the cloud. Other crews would fly over the developing cloud and deposit the chemicals in the tops.
Any significant turbulence or precip. was a signal to depart the area toute suite and any hail damage to your ship was cause for immediate firing.
We recieved a comprehensive weather briefing every morning. If there was no chance for CB`s then most of the crews could stand down.
Then it was direct to Sylvan Lake-beer, barbecue, water-skiing, sailing-great.
Believe it or not, we do not get thunder storms every day in Alberta.
It is possible that the whole concept has changed since I was on the Project-maybe they hire only unmarried test pilots and fly a fleet of armour plated TBM`s-but I doubt it.

I will never go near a CB again without radar that i know is working not just filling a hole in the dash.
No radar is a NoGo

These guys (not wxmod) have a modified T-28 that they use to fly right through the thunderstorm:
The T-28 is the only aircraft ever developed that has routinely and safely penetrated vigorous thunderstorm updrafts with wind speeds up to 100 mph and encountered hail ranging up to golf ball size and larger.
After the modifications, the T-28 was capable of performing hailstorm penetrations to altitudes up to about 25,000 feet, and was able to withstand impacts of hailstones up to 7.5 cm in diameter at 100 m/s relative speed, with minimal damage.
