C-206 recurrent training

Post by Flymez »

My operator is telling me I dont need recurrent training on the 206, it doesnt sound right so my question is

do you need recurrent training on the 206 every year if your flying it for an operator or is it just the one time initial training, also. if so how many hours?

From What I went through. They want 3hrs initial training and 1hr recurrent. IN the aircraft.. I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm off base on this one. Maybe you'll get lucky and someone will point you to the CARS reference. I don't have enough energy and can't sit long enough to wade through it

Check with your operations manual first. All training requirements should be in there. If you think the ops manual is wrong then go to the CAR's.

The last operator I worked for required 1 hour recurrent training annually in the C206.

Cheers,

If you're doing charters in the aircraft, you need recurrent training. It's not much, something like an hour or two but it is required. If you're operator thinks you don't, he's going to be in for a surprise on his next audit when TC pulls his OC.
