Do you fly natives around in your king air?Doc wrote:It's all about the money. Show me the money. Why do you think there are five churches in Deer Lake? To save souls? Nope. To get as much of that welfare money as they can get their grubby little paws on! They'll take the food right off you child's table if you let them!

What exactly is a native?Do you fly natives around in your king air?
Are you referring to the North American Indians who use tax payers money to fly?
The hardest thing about flying is knowing when to say no
After over a half a century of flying no one ever died because of my decision not to fly.

I don't know about you, but I've never seen a rich pastor.Doc wrote:It's all about the money. Show me the money. Why do you think there are five churches in Deer Lake? To save souls? Nope. What is with non-Christians aparant hate for everything Christian? As a Christian in an inherantly non-Christian society its almost shocking to witness peoples absolute hate for Christianity. What did Christians ever do to these people to create such a reaction???altiplano wrote:Feckin christian scabs...

What I can't figure out is how religion can sell something they can't produce.
For instance can I sell airplanes to people and never produce one and keep them paying me based on faith that the airplane I sold them really exists?

Religion=humans act of doing/not doing things with the false mentality that their actions will earn them their way to "paradise" (be it Islam, Bahai, Christianity, Buddism).
Faith=belief in what was done for you (without using "faith" as a reason to excuse intentional future "bad" actions) is sufficient to get you into heaven. By faith alone is one saved, not by works of his own hands.
These are two important notable items in which their differences are important to know, because most do not differentiate the two and therefore slam them both, whereas religion is the one to be slammed.
so, religion is man alone. faith is God and man's relationship. Since most belief systems believe that humans are not perfect, religion will be (and is) full of flaws. Faith is personal, so others should only see the result of that faith played out in the believers daily life.
hm, sounds like a spiritual doctrine class! i'm no preacher. Just my two bits.
cheers.

So I have an airplane you can make payments to me on, this airplane will fly forever to the end of eternity without fuel and never break down.faith is God and man's relationship.
All you need is faith that this airplane really exists and send me 10% of what you earn as a sign of faith in my airplane and that someday you will get to own it.

Getting close Cat Driver.
This is why you want to be sure that what you put your faith in is worth it. Put your faith in an ultralight that is known to breakdown continually...thinking "This flight will be different..even though every other flight with it, it has had an engine failure"...well good chance that as much faith that you may have, it will not make a difference. Put your faith in something that you're more sure of, well, better chances. Gambling? Naw, you get that "hunch" (for a lack of a better word) that it's right. But it's faith for a reason...one can't prove it...hence the word faith.

Fair enough, but religeon sells God, something that is not a tangible thing but a being that is only in the imagination of man. This is why you want to be sure that what you put your faith in is worth it.
