ACK-E01 ELT's

Post by ybp »

I want to put this ELT in my dad's PA-140, because of the ease of changing batteries. But talking with one of the engineers at work, I was told that they take "special" Duracell "D" batteries, that are very expencive and hard to find.....????

Has anyone actually used these ELT's and have some info on them? It would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Phil

ELT Batteries

Post by scooter2 »

As a avionic tech.......I have recertified a number of these ELT..................just go down to the drug store and buy regular batteries of that name and brand and put in....they are good for 2 years. There are no special batteries for this unique type of ELT>

It looks like you need Duracell MN-1300 or PC 1300.
