787 rollout ceremony

I hear that the 787 will be unveiled on the 8th of July.

Some marketing genius came up with the 7/8/07 as the appropriate date.

Neat.

no worries - just delay to 7 August (and start writing dates the dates the right way round)

Can anyone go to a rollout or is it press/invite only? I was planning a trip to Seattle this summer, and that would be really neat to check out, but I'm not so thrilled about hugging a fence next to the highway.

I don't know about the roll out, but there are some decent spots near the runway for the first flight. A friend of the wife and I works at Boeing and was giving us all the details on the first flight date, which I believe is near the end of August. The museum parking lot at the airport is apparently the place to be
