Sandra Bullock's husband Jesse James was the victim of a murder attempt outside the couple's Orange County home at the weekend.
(BANG) - Sandra Bullock's husband Jesse James was almost killed by a crazed stalker.
The actress watched in horror as Marcia Valentine repeatedly tried to run James over outside the couple's Orange County home at the weekend.
Valentine - who police say has stalked Sandra in the past - laid in their driveway and when James came out to inspect she jumped in her car and attempted to drive over him three times.
Orange County Sheriff's spokesman Jim Amormino said: "On several occasions before this incident Sandra Bullock and Jesse James found Marcia Valentine lying in front of their garage door. On the morning of Sunday, April 22 around 10.30 am, James went out and asked her to leave.
"She yelled some obscenities at James and went to her car and threw the car in reverse in his direction. He attempted to move out of the way and she kept moving the vehicle. She attempted to run him over three or four times. She then drove off on Pacific Coast Highway. James called police and told them he did not know this woman. He then gave them a detailed description of her to the police - she drove a silver Mercedes with a white decal on the rear. He described her as a 5ft 4in white female. "
James escaped the frenzied automobile attack without injury.
Valentine, who fled the scene, was picked up by police the following day. James positively identified her in a police line-up.
The case has been sent to the Orange County District Attorney's office and Valentine faces charges of assault with a deadly weapon. Her bail was set at $27,800 and she is due in court on May 22.
Sandra's representative Cheryl Maisel said: "Both Jesse James and Sandra Bullock are fine and it is now in the hands of the authorities."
Kind of imasculating to refer to him as Sandra Bullock's husband, as if we wouldn't know who he was otherwise. But I guess people care more about her standing there helpless yelling, "Jesse! Look out!" than a guy getting run down by a crazy broad.
I haven't a clue, who Jesse James is, I guess that's what you get for having a foolish name like that.
I thought this was a better story
Hugh Grant arrested over baked beans attack

LONDON — Hugh Grant has been arrested and questioned by police after a photographer accused the British actor of attacking him with a tub of baked beans.
Photographer Ian Whittaker told the Daily Star tabloid that he and Grant, 46, clashed near the home of the Four Weddings and a Funeral star.
Whittaker said Grant abused and kicked him on Tuesday before lobbing the beans.
The paper printed photos of Grant with a plastic tub of food raised over his head.
Grant's lawyers Schillings said an incident had taken place and was now under investigation.
A police spokeswoman, when asked about the incident, said a 46-year-old man had been arrested on Wednesday evening and questioned at a London police station after an allegation of assault in west London.
He was released on bail and ordered to return in May.
All I got to say is the London Police should throw the photographer in jail for being such a nuisance. Baked beans is not as serious as being harrassed by stupid photographers.
I haven't a clue, who Jesse James is, I guess that's what you get for having a foolish name like that.
Jessie James: Founder and owner of West Coast Choppers, host of Discovery Channel's "Monster Garage", featured builder on "Biker Build Off", and great nephew of the other Jessie James after whom he was named.
It's sometimes hard to tell when somebody is being sarcastic or ignorant. You get so much ignorance here that you just suspect it to be the case first.
