Ok, maybe it's the wine, but now I'm annoyed.
I have never considered myself a 'union man', in fact I loath the Buzz Hargrove types. I am starting to reconsider my position.
Here we have a pilot making $XX today, and tomorrow the aircraft owner decides to move it to a different management company. One (probably two) pilots are now expected to take a 28% cut in pay?
To fly the same people in the same aircraft.
Does the new company have a busier charter department? Will the aircraft fly more revenue hours? Probably, or the owner would not have made the move.
But wait - the crew is making 28% less.
TO FLY MORE.

With a tag like 'floats', I'm assuming you have float experience. With float experience, you could probably make 5 phone calls and get 3 job offers over the phone. I saw Barry O'Brian from Voyage Air was looking for 185 and Beaver pilots:
Job Description:
We are looking for experienced, safe “Bush Pilots” for C-185 and Beaver
aircraft on floats. Jobs are based out of Buffalo Narrows, Saskatchewan
and possibly Fort McMurray, Alberta. Position requires a minimum of
1000 hrs PIC with 500 hrs PIC on floats. Pervious Dispatcher/Base
manager/AME experience considered an asset. Season begins mid May and continues
full time till mid Oct. Wages are calculated by a rate per day + flying
commissions and vary with experience and assigned duties.
Salary:C-185 ($3500.00 > $6000.00), DHC-2 ($4500.00 > $8500.00)
Closing Date:01 May 2007
Tell your boss you want the same money you were making last year or you walk!

The union didn't manage to maintain Air Canada pilot salaries. Just an observation. The Other Kind wrote:Ok, maybe it's the wine, but now I'm annoyed.

This is the problem with all management companies. You can bet the aircraft owner is paying the same rate as he was previously. The management company is just lining their pockets with your money. Find another job!
