In Lieu. Stock options will not reflect on your T4 until you excise them. But even as someone who's husband has never sold a share...yet...and never had any stock options to worry about.
Next year
He still had made more than what the pay scale on Airline Pilot Central said he should have made, much more. And believe me, he has not worked any overtime, except for once...I"m not allowed to answer the phone when he's home.
Just kidding!

Options are not in lieu of anything other than salary. Sometimes they're better than salary and sometimes they're not.
Employee Share Purchase Plan (ESPP) is in lieu of a pension and this is largely where the salary disparity with AC lies. You'd have to calculate how much of a pension you're gonna get after your glorious AC career and add it to your salary to get a truer comparison. That is to say if there is any pension left after the next bankruptcy. (That one's for you tony. Discuss.)
You'll also need to figure in the superior AC benefits to the comparison as WestJet's provider Sunlife sucks.
Thirdly, AC pilots have much different working conditions ie. collective ageement than we do. Better? No. Worse? No. Just different so kudos for asking questions.
