Telus flight department?
Anyone know if Telus still has a flight department? I remember a few years back they used to have citations, and other assorted a/c. Any info on status would be appreciated.
cheers

Is it a Challenger now? I know that they did have at least one Citation X, and prior to that good old Ed Paul had his fiefdom of C550's, but it's been a lot of years...ahh I miss the West Coast!
GREAT avatar, by the way, Human Factors!

I’m still waiting for my white male privilege membership card. Must have gotten lost in the mail.
I've been away for a while as well but I had heard they were "managed" by Execaire. I thought it was a Citation 10, Turbo Beaver and a 500 series Citation. A number of the senior guys have moved on as well although I believe Ken S. is still hanging in there.
That was always my desired flight department for the combination of coastal float and scheduled jet flying.
Either way, "Telco" is a shadow of it Ed Paul hay days. It was more of a club than a job.

Yes, they have C-FASA (DHC2 amphib) and C-FTEN (Cit. X), but they also have C- FCKW, another turbo beav amphib. The TC registration site still has it registered c/o BC Tel though...
They have a pretty small staff at Telus and do almost all their stuff in-house. I imagine it would be a tough outfit to get in with, but worth it if you can.

Telus needs the amphib to do some repeater maintenance along the mid coast around Gil Island or thereabouts. They're a scab company and I wouldn't work for them under any circumstances. I really miss the days of B.C. tel, a very decent company. I wonder if telus ever settled the strike that started 3 years ago or did they just replace everyone with scabs?
You will never live long enough to know it all, so quit being anal about it..

BC Tel's flight department was a great place to be pre-telus. I never worked there, but knew some that did and they loved it. The guys I knew there are long gone, and from the sounds of it the current incarnation is a far cry from 10-ish years ago. I would expect it's still not too bad of a gig, though.
