Post by log sheet »

I work a 7 on 7 off nightshift right now. 8pm-8am. One of the better shifts I've worked. If there is a good nightshift!

No freakin kidding! I did that shift for 12 years! When I finally got straight days, it took me about three months for the body to adjust! I ain't ever doing that again!

For helicopters I usually work 30 on 14 off, depending on the company, for Planks I won't ever do a straight night shift again! Won't even do one night if I have a choice, and I do!!

I only work 4 to 5 months of the year now. With flight pay from the helicopters, I'm usually "around" the 90 K mark!

That's more then enough for me, with the pension!!

i typically work 6-8 weeks on and then take a month off. This seems to work the best for me as I travel to Thailand on my days off for some R&R. Last year I only worked about 8 months and made around $90000 on that schedule and i never had to leave the hangar and no flight pay..............rh350

I am on a 6 week on 6 week off rotation. While the company is in canada I have to go overseas for my rotations. Just enjoying my 1st round off. It looks good so far.

I've never figured this 7X7 shift. You have to be an unsafe zombie by day 7. I remember when Time Air used to do it and we (AirBC) were on the 4X4 shift, when those guys were on their last day the were pooched.

I think the 4X4 shift is the best compromise you can find. Not too long and decent time off that rotates through weekends.

I've been working a 5&5 rotating between day shift(6am-5:30pm) Afternoons(5pm-4:30am) and nights  (8pm-7:30am). Been with the company for aleast 7yrs now. I find it's a good shift to be on, only draw back is the amount of night shift you do in a month which is alot. The best shift to work is the afternoons(no traffic, pretty much guaranteed leaving early  ).

So far the best shift I've done. 5-5-4. We cover the aircrafts on our days on. We have only 1 to 2 airplanes with o/night and turns.

I've been working the no fixed shift, shift. I work when the plane is there and putter around when it isn't. Company allows me to set my own hours which is great for me having a wife that works differing shifts it allows me to be there for when my son goes to and from school. There are the odd unscheduled midnight maintenance road trips that happen, but for the most part maintenance tasks are easily planned and most every weekend is a 3 day weekend.
