good contacts

Post by Pete »

A rookie with a C/MIFR has a good buddy at a charter company (fancy jets and such), possibly his/her Dad knows the chief pilot or what not. Can this low time guy get in? Does this happen or do insurance requirements totally dominate who gets in? No I dont have any good friends like that lol...I just wanted to know if it actually happens. Ive had friends get some pretty cushy jobs because Daddy knows someone...just wondered if that applies to nice flying gigs too.

The problem is not that if you have two good CV you get your friends, the problem is when they choose and inept over the other because he is somebody's friend.

He may have knew someone but i don't really consider right seat on a single pilot plane to be jumping way ahead of the pack. That is the type of job you would expect to get right away these days with or without knowing someone.
