Niagara Air line pilot position?
Did anyone apply for the line pilot position posted a few days ago for Niagara air tours? Any phone calls or interviews?

Yes we are in the process of calling back selected applicants. We received a great deal of email from aviators all over Canada. Unfortunately, we have only been able to get back to a small group of applicants so far as it is the tour season and there is a lot to be done around the base. Basically, those that showed up in person to drop a resume and those immediately local to the area were called back first. We are however, still going through our applicants, so accept our apologies if we haven't gotten back to you.
I greatly appreciate the enthusiasm and professionalism from the majority of the folks that applied. It's always enjoyable to see people eager to make their first move in the industry.

Heck yes!! Where else are you going to get PIC time and be paid for it coming straight out of the flight schools?? No dock or ramp work..victory_aviation wrote:even with the way the indstry is right now?
I hope the person chosen for the spot works out well and sticks around for the season. Best of luck to those that have applied
Let me tell you something about Niagara Air Tours.
You will never...EVER...find a better place to work in Southern Ontario...INCLUDING working for Air Canada
(j/k)
The guy running the show now is perhaps THE most professional individual this industry has/will EVOOOR see.
I worked back when I had some sort of a hairline left on my scalp
. The people that I met there are my long life friends that will drop whatever they are doing to come and stand by me at a time of personal crisis...OR to stagger through the streets of Hamilton pissed out of our gorges
....
Stop cheating yourselves and start treating yourselves to what will be the most positive aviation experience of your initial career path.

As far as flying times go, 250 hours from here on in to October is a fair guesstimate.
Geeze, you guys with the compliments. Couldn't have come at a better time. NAT2 was reered by some of the finest pilots in the industry and I am honoured to continue the tradition you laid down. I came close to forgetting what I loved about the industry, you goofs...yea you too jerk store. Now it is me waving the crazy arms when you taxi in too slowly then on the next flight giving you grief about taxiing too fast.
Just an FYI, I am renting Disney World for the NAT reunion in 2048, all NAT PILOTS are invited to RSVP.

From what everyone is saying it seems like a great place to work. I have asked around a bit and everyone seems to like the owner and the staff alot. I have only had one person reply saying they had an interview for the job. I am guessing that they do not interview many people. NAT2 I heard you guys do some kind of a test flight in the interview? Is it too late to apply for the position? When is your closing date?
In my own defence, the sun was in my eyes when 'Buster' & I decided to play, what's known today in many circles as "Dumbass golf".Frostbite wrote:Great Place to start and log time, Just watch for falling golf balls!!!!
Seem like a good bunch of people running the operation.

Worked there back in 2000. Did about 400 hours including a charter up north. Lots of fun and, yes, lots of drinking...and then there was "the neighbour"...'nuff said!
Is there a new instructional video regarding the marshalling signals or has NAT2 adopted the old signals?

"The ability to ditch an airplane in the Hudson does not qualify a pilot for a pay raise. The ability to get the pilots, with this ability, to work for 30% or 40% pay cuts qualifies those in management for millions in bonuses."

We first told you in our June 1999 issue (below) about the damage a flying golf ball can do to a golfer. In that test, scientists from the Institute for Preventative Sports Medicine in Ann Arbor, Mich., used a crash-test dummy (named Ed) and a machine that shoots golf balls to replicate real-life beaning scenarios outdoors.
Those tests showed that an 85-m.p.h. shot to the frontal lobe--the thickest part of the skull--from 35 yards away will cause a nasty bruise, but has only a 1 percent chance of causing a life-threatening injury. Ehh.. what's 1% between friends.. Fehgedaboudit!!
In our latest test, the team shot balls at a dummy's,(tall, white haired,full-time janitor, part-time pilot with black legs who liked to work for credit to spend later at Turkish baths -E.K.- ) forehead and temple in a lab. Early results show that the temple is by far the most dangerous place to get hit--a major artery runs just below the thin bone there. A severe injury is more likely than not.
Seriously IABD... really sorry Bro.. I used a 9 iron and clearly should have hit the sand wedge.. when will I learn???

On the bright side though.. I have made a small fortune on my patented golf helmet pictured below, I call it the " One Eyed T ", nobody is ever sure which one to look at and it's a little awkward to smoke a cigar or drink through but it is all the rage in Dirkadirkastan. I am donating 2.7% of the profits in your name to the charity as you requested "The Home for Hammer's Human Trampolines and Washed-Up Ballerinas". They want to thank you personally at the corner of Ottawa and Burlington, third box past the dumpster on the left.
Sincerely, The Ex-Buster
PS. As for NAT being a great place to get your start in aviation, I agree 100%. When it's rockin, it's ROCKIN and you are flying good machinery and when it's dead, there's always time for a little Golf or GoldenEye. To the all time Assasin.. Peanuts

Cue the MUSIC...

Fill the Oil..Check the Fuel
In my humble opinion....the above post is THE BEST POST EVOOOR TO GRACE THESE HERE CYBER HALLS OF AVCANADA
LONG LIVE THE BIG TOP 4 EVER
On a serious note, a lot of good, professional and successful people have come through NAT's doors. A lot of people are the top in their chosen niche of the industry.
Also, excellent posted material from this site is contributed by these same people from the same original group of the "Big Top".
You'd be surprised who these people are on this site (I'm not included because I contribute nothing on here) Something about that backroom couch spurred up magical powers to those who sat in it for hours playing video games until the next bus showed up.
