Fast PFO

Post by superpilot »

So I did my interview last month, and received a PFO that was dated just two weeks after my interview. I thought everything went fine. Has anyone else been PFO'd so fast and then got called back?

I talked to Jennifer and she said that sounded a bit too early to receive a letter.

Any info...please? :?:

I heard there was a jazz guy who actually gut a PFO Before his interview!! Heard it was something due to him rescheduling his his interview for whatever reason and I guess they were pretty red faced about it!

Rescheduling your interview because you have an interview at another airline is probably an automatic PFO.
Also, rescheduling because your'e still waiting to find out if it will affect your status at AC because you've already interviewed there is an autamatic PFO.

I guess you will have to change your name from "super pilot" to normal pilot now.

Exactly what is it you are looking for here? Soomeone to tell you that you got it too fast so it must not be true? You tried. You failed. Move on!

Wow we've officially been conditioned to think that 2 weeks is nowhere near enough time to make a hiring decision.

Why should it even take 2 weeks? Tests, inteview, medical, review the file for 10 minutes the next day...done. Make the call or send the letter. Total elapsed time 5 days.

In a normal world.....

Jennifer is the one who signs the letter.. it is confusing that she would say "its a bit too early?"
Sorry to hear about your letter though.. join the club....

well i dont see why they wont. if something like that happened while on the job then it would also happen at the interview, i think! :? that is something im also worried about. in the past when i was applying for regular jobs i used to get all the phone calls on the same day for the same date for an interview from various employers.. its very hard to decide which one to chose.

Damn dockjock, you should be running the hiring dept at AC. Probibly save them a fortune in costs assiocated with that 3rd party panel. Not to mention the number of pilots across who would quickly like to know either way.

2 weeks is nice, at least it didn't take 6 months to get that PFO. Try again in 6 months.

I've heard of guys emailing Jen back requesting an other interview and they get it right away. So who knows maybe they don't hire you if your not a 1900 FO with 2000hrs.
I'm gonna attempt to cut my time in half take off my previous three employers and see if my odds increse.
It sounds like not a bad plan huh??

Im sure if your cover letter says that you have 2000 hours in the circuit and never landed on gravel/water you're a shoe in.

Cheers,

Gravel and water landing experience has as much to do with Air Canada as flying circuits. Besides, past experience gets you the interview only.

The moment you check in with the receptionist for your interview, all candidates become equal and performance in the screening process is all that matters.

"Gee Bob that guy was a total know-it-all jerk, and he pooched the cog screen and the pysch eval was marginal."
"Ya but he flew GRAVEL OPS."
"I see, ya let's hire him he's a hero."

The fastest I heard was of a 19 year old kid, who had just done his first solo, came home all thrilled and excited, only to find a PFO from AC in the mail. I guess even dreaming of a job at AC can now get you a PFO!
