yev is a forward operating base for f18's and the norad usaf f-16's
in the creatin years no money starve the military - very little activiity
now with renewed interest in the north and especially this time of year the
northwest passage . doesn't suprise me that the new gov't with higher funding for the armed forces is up there keeping a better
on things. it is a good thing !! also it is one of the locations on the list for a deepwater port as it has already some signifcant infrastructure in place fuel storage road access etc.
hope that helpsfly safe and enjoy the midnight sun for a few more weeks

another possible answer is an advanced security team for the pm
maybe an announcement on the pipeline or that port . everything up there is political and ya never are going to have consensus some take rather personal when ya don't agree with their point of view. so security is a good thing 8)
that is just supposition on my part though

Maybe someone told Dubya that the Taliban were planning a terrorist attack on the igloo church and Dubya, well he don't know where Inuvik is so he called ol' Stevie boy to go up ther and bomb the shit out of the Taliban for him (Dubya) so they sent some of them there CF-18's up there along with the Herc's just in case Dubya's pilots can find Inuvik but that there airport is too small foe his lil' ol' 747 so they are going to bring the presidential motorcade in piece by piece and Dubya will fly in from Deadhorse in Marine 1, knowing all to well that the Taliban does not know where Inuvik is either and besides, the mosquitoes and black flies are the real killers.
At least that is the way I see it. And I also see I need another drink.(burp)

The average pilot, despite the somewhat swaggering exterior, is very much capable of such feelings as love, affection, intimacy and caring.
These feelings just don't involve anyone else.
