Just taking a look at our hourly rates and was wondering what everyone else is charging. If you don't mind maybe post the type of aircraft and number of employees. And if you're really feeling generous, the location would be good to know.
We are at $85 with 172'S through Citations a 3 engineers and 3 apprentices. Ran the numbers not long ago and even at $85 the margins are not very good.
$75 per hour. Discounts for preferred clients. Owner assisted annuals double.

25% is what I think we mark things at... not to sure though, not something I have to deal with... I just work on the things, it's up to my manager to deal with money issues.
LOL, Im still "living the dream" I guess! Not a high point in my life to be honest.
As luck would have it, I aim to be down there this weekend. Gonna go and cheer on our mutual friend/motorcycle racer. I'll pop in around yvr, as my bro/dad are both plane watchers , and we have to go there. Helluva a way to spend time off...
So I guess it's good that the 90-100 vote got the most if you add the two.. Thank god some of the shops are seeing the light and charging what they are worth. Maybe the wages will be following shortly..
If the industry stays as it is now, the wages will be going up considerably within a short while. Keep your fingers crossed..
Meecka:
I highly doubt the wages will change where you are, they have no reason to raise them. They have the attitude there that if you want to leave, well then leave...especially for the paint, interior, touch-up departments because really the only place close they will go is up in Centralia. They have (or use to) a constant cycling between those two companies. For some reason people stay there, I think because they don't pay you enough to be able to afford to leave...believe me, I took a huge leap of faith when I left and I certainly could not afford to at the time. I just hope for your sake things have been cleaned up in the last 5 years, working in paint stripper water is less then healthy.
Speaking of water, I really miss living on the lake shore
But really, I'm not so much an optomist as a realist. I've been in the industry long enough to see what's happening. In YVR right now, you can hardly buy an engineer. I can think of a number of companies who would pay a very good wage just to get a licenced person. Of course most of them have no benefits and no interline agreements. Others, like where I am, have a reasonable (yes it could always be better) wage with full medical and dental stuff as well as great interline benefits.
