I've never flown a twatter just going on observations, but this skytruck doesn't look like a true off strip machine. Sure it's got some great features, but it's no twatter replacement.

i think the longevity of the 2-otter is the simplicity of the design (ie. the landing gear) and its ruggedness. I guess the skytruck just has to perform in the most harsh environments in the world on wheels, wheel/skis, skis and floats for around 50 yrs and we'll have a chance to have a true comparison!
looks pretty cool though.

The Skytruck wins hands down.COUNTERINSURGENCY:
The M28 is not afraid of a fight. It can be outfitted with a variety of lightweight weapon systems, which will allow this versatile aircraft to play a key role in stand-off military operations. Weapons options include compact rocket or grenade launchers and or 7.62mm machine guns. The aircraft can also be equipped with standard NATO under-wing hard-points pylons allowing it to carry a wide variety of weapon options.

After over a half a century of flying no one ever died because of my decision not to fly.

That's pretty cool. Its the first aircraft I've seen in a while that actually offers some decent competition to the Twotter. It appears to outperform it in almost every important category, and I REALLY like the rear cargo door (you can even get a hoist!). However, it does appear that the engines are significantly bigger/more powerful, so I wonder how its fuel economy compares. Also only time will tell whether its anywhere near as rugged.
The website says a skytruck can go 1,010 nm on 602 USG of fuel, what are the numbers for a twotter?

I think this is the machine that will be able to service the good people of Shamattawa.

It appears that this aircraft gives its pilots super human strenght

Perhaps they should have opted for this option to hoist those extra Bulk Barrels of Pop.

Looks like your picture went away ......I think this is the machine that will be able to service the good people of Shamattawa.
....never mind Shamattawa I bet if TC were to ramp check you with that sucker they would be real courteous.....
And you could rent it to Hedley to see where he would test out those rocket pods......
You could dress up in a swat team rig with lots of high powered weapons on you and just tell TC's ramp checkers to fu.k off because you are on a secret mission..

I am sure JC or Ettw would be happy to take one north and break it and show the nice people at Sky Truck just how strong their landing gear is. And look at the "facts" they have on their site. Find me a Borek otter pilot that needs that much space to get off the ground! Hell thats almost worth a trip north myself to break one.

You bastards! My first weekend off, and I get called by the boss to get down to YYC and to bring a box of nails...if that thing and a twotter got into a cage and fought with chains and sticks with nails in them... i wonder who would win?
You wouldn't believe the hassle I got from YZF security.
Chatting with a pilot here who is headed to Afghanistan on the -7 and we decided that a Twin with 2 door gunners with 50 cal would be some ride! Hell I think I'd even go over there for that sort of excitement. Have to cut a hole in the seat cushion to make room for my helmet to protect my balls from fire below!!
Cheers,
ETTW
PS....anyone really good with photoshop? Id love to see the door gunners and pods hangin on my twin. JC...I thought we had hard points on SJB? Not the sort of hardpoints we're talking about here mind you
