Air Transat Interview?

Can anyone give any insight into the interview process at Air Transat?
Questions? Sim? Medical?
-What could someone expect.

not too sure on the interview but unless you're fluent in french (full verbal and writing skills) you don't have much of a chance. Everything there is conducted in french. Your books are french, the ground school is done in french etc. For Transat french should be your first language

I had a buddy go for an interview and they did it all in french. He had some french knowledge - enough to get by in a day to day situation - but was definitely short of bilingual and bombed it...

Quebec separatists are all bastards. So all Taiwanese people are bastards unless Taiwan joined back China Mainland. So all the Tamouls in Sri Lanka are bastards.
Look at the Eastern Europe map of some twenty five years ago and what it looks like today, and according to your standards there is a whole lot of bastards hanging around there these days.

Why whenever we talk about AT interviews, frustrated unilingual pilots stick their dirty nose into the forum and express their frustration about french-canadian culture? You know what, we are french yes! But we are more than willing to accept any candidates who will have any bit of interest in our culture! There are some pilots who are unilingual anglophones at AT and you know what, they seem happy and enjoying the french culture! So here is my advise to any english-speaking AT pilot wanna bes... Do your best, show interest and you will still a chance! Truely french-canadian but definetely canadian, good luck,

Look myself in the mirror??? That's funny. If you're gonna try and be smart with your little world history/geography lesson, at least try and sound that way. I don't have a clue what you just said there.

But um, uh, yeah I'm gonna say that any group of people who would resort to terrorism to make a point about ANYTHING...Nevermind a friggin language, is a Bastard. Being such a history buff, I'm sure you can recall a similar mentality in Eastern Europe around say...oh, I dunno...the early 40's. So I'm gonna have to say YES then. The FLQ were Bastards. But that wasn't my point.

I'm not unilingual, I went to French school for 11 years. Some of my best friends are French Canadian. I can promise that I am more Bilingual than YOU are. It's the principal you guys are missing. The closed mindedness. Everything, everywhere needs to be bilingual...except in Quebec. How much sense does that make?? We have two official languages I thought...What's good for the goose should be good for the gander.

All I'm saying is that whether or not someone can speak seperatist has no bearing as to whether or not they can fly, any more than it should matter what colour someone's skin is. Period.

Maybe Anglophones and Francophones should have seperate water fountains and washrooms I guess.

What does the FLQ have to do with Transat? Please I'm dying to know.

Send resumes written in French all over Canada and see what kind of calls you get outside of Quebec. Try and claim discrimination afterwards!

Tell me you would hire someone that does not speak one word of English in an anglo environment.

This subject is getting tiresome to say the least.

TFTMB, an "anglo" environment is anywhere people speak English. The last three and a half billion times I've been in YUL, guess what??? The controllers spoke English.

And if I'm not mistaken, so do controllers everywhere else AT flies.

It's not any less of an English environment than a French one, smart guy.
Just because you don't WANT it to be an "anglo" environment dosen't mean it ISN'T one.

So tell me this,

How is it a requirement to speak French to do the job??
and then,
If it's not discriminatory, what is it??

That's all I was getting at.

Transat has anglophones working there so what's the problem.

The fact that they may (I say may because I am not AT management and don't no for a fact) prefer francophones to me is not dicrimination because I'm willing to bet a buck they won't hire someone that doesn't speak a word of English. I can tell you for a fact they verify that you speak English when they screen on the phone.

You didn't get bombed because you expressed yourself in English, it's more the content of the message.

I'd like to reply to more on your post but it doesn't all make sense to me.

There might be more "separatists" flying in Alberta than elsewhere in our country.

But what is your point exactly and what do you mean by "separatist"? You are kind of vague
