How many pilots have married a....
My wife and I were chuckling tonight about how many of us are married to people listed in these professions, so I'm throwing it out there.

Drinking outside the box.
Isn't it sweet? My wife makes more than 3 times as much as I do. Its nice of her to support my habitStinky wrote:I've met a lot of pilots married to teachers but you need to include "sugar momma" in the poll. I'm married to the breadwinner and I know a few pilots married to doctors and other proffesionals.

My girfriend is running a bank , owns 2 businesses and just convinced me to leave YZF for down south. It hurts me somewhat but my decision was taken today.
Next time I drive a plane, I will own the seat.

Flying an aircraft and building a guitar are two things that are easy to do bad and difficult to do right

Tofo,
I don't care about the type of plane. A Twotter is cool but there is nothing like a seat you own.
Where are your pics?

All I want is to be with her dude, and make a living out of what we love.
Being happy is all about life, isn't?
I am 54 and there's no time to lose now.
How old are ya?

Yup, I found out lately that I'd rather own the seat of a small plane even though the Twotters around are tempting but i gotta make a move toward retirement...this life goes fast man

retirement...
Wow Rudder Bug... I guess I just had quite the opportunity to catch you and shake hands with you when I went in YZF!
Hope I get to meet the woman that made you take such a decision! Be a happy man, and may your soul continue to be wealthy with happy moments!

Guess I ain't the marryin' type

Courage is the price that life exacts for granting peace. The soul that knows it not, knows no release from the little things; knows not the livid loneliness of fear, nor mountain heights where bitter joy can hear the sound of wings.

Not a teacher, not a pilot - define 'northerner' - might qualify there, but a transplanted one, previous to meeting hubby
I have to tell you guys....
I was at a seminar years ago at ALPA and there was a researcher who had spent about 20 years studying pilots. As in, who the hell were we if you could generalize.
One of his many fascinating outcomes was that we were married in large part to 3 professions!
Teachers, Nurses and Flight Attendants.
In fact, by show of hands in the room (about 400 pilots) he proceeded to blow our minds by proving it!
Weird.
So, something about these 3 groups really works for us. A guy I know who is much smarter than me on matters such as these, said that he feels all 3 of these groups are professional "boundary violators" . No, not S&M guys. They are all paid to know how to take control of a situation by way of violating peoples normal expected boundaries.
So, what about this would attract us as a generalized group?
Not sure. Maybe we are so deeply involved in control while at work that when we leave work, we have a deep desire to kick back by relinquishing control to a personality that loves to have it.
I dunno....what do you guys think?

Hrm, well nurses and teachers are the only two female-dominated professions that are portable enough to keep up with pilots who move a lot, and FA's are the only female dominated job to work closely with pilots on a day-to-day basis. Common sense really. As more and more women become pilots, I suspect the number of pilots married to other pilots will rise dramatically too. As for this "boundary pusher" stuff, I think it's a bunch of psychobabble nonsense.
