I prefer the Thunderbirds...Blue Angels...I'm impressed on the planes they fly and their performance.....
Snowbirds can't manage to keep their simple tutors in the air...
perhaps too much whiskY?
Gte better palnes or get rid of them I say!
If i'm not mistaken the Blue Angels had a crash before the Snowbirds did this year.
The BA's and TB's are excellent teams. But their displays are boring and unimaginative in comparison to the snowbirds complexity.

WTF
Nice spelling! How many years did you spend in grade 2? Does your mom still wipe your ass as well?????
The Snowbirds should give us something as Canadians to be proud of and for our kids to view as role models. We spend more time bashing each other in this country than rallying behind those that deserve it such as our own military. Many posts on this forum are a fine example of that.
I for one am proud of the boys in red and what they represent. And if anyone has a problem with that then keep your wife at home when the air show comes to town.
I recall flying a 172 doing circuits at CYHZ, and tower telling an AC-Airbus to hold short of the intersecting runway to wait for us to do our touch and go. I can imagine how pissed off he was throwing out some f-bombs. They waited probably a few minutes for our slow-asses to get outta their way.

Right on!
I watched the Snowbirds perform just after the BA in Quebec a few years ago, and the BAs were quite boring! They do not even loop!
Now for something really fantastic, have a look at the Russian Air Force demonstration team! These guys are really crazy...and great!

Success in life is when the cognac that you drink is older than the women you drink it with.
I really like when the Russians or Italians crash into the crowd - that is fucking great!
This site really can be informative....other times it gives limp #$@ed little whiners a venue to bitch and snivel about those that REALLY are good pilots, like the Snowbirds.
I've known and flown with at least 2 Snowbirds in my life - in hindsight, both were destined to be amongst the best cause they were when I flew with them. Truly REAL aviators if there ever was such a thing.
So for all you wannabes, go fly straight and level for 10000 hours - that is where you belong. Leave the precision close formation flying to those who have the internal fortitude to put on a good show - just for the sake of putting on a good show.
For what it's worth, I have met (and shared a beer or two with) aviators from precision teams around the world...... Roulettes, Snowbirds, Blue Angels and the Red Arrows. Every single pilot I have met from these teams exemplifies a passion and a skill towards what they do that is astounding. Who gives 9 colours of shit if they fly a PC9, a Tutor, Hawk or Hornet. These guys use their skills to their utmost to thrill, entertain and perhaps even motivate young wannabes out there to maybe do the same.
I've lost count of the number of times I have watched these guys do their stuff and it making me smile.
all one can do is respond like a book with no pages...
so I had a typo...big deal get over it Lucy!
Blown Juggs.. can't even be constructive on response..
don't like the heat get out of the kitchen!
Dissapointing narrator lets this go...
Nothing wrong with contructive opinions, last I checked Canada is still a democracy with freedom of speech! anything else is jouvenile
That right there disqualifies you and anyone else of similar ilk from criticising the performance and conduct of the Snowbirds or any other military aerial demonstration team.
So, how much time do you spend planning your flight before actually flying it?
For all of those 300 flying hours they might fly in a year, guaranteed, they spend at least 2 hours briefing and 2 hours debriefing each flight, assuming an average 1 hour for each 'flight'.
Put that in your bong and smoke it.

Oh yeah, and what the hell is it with this amercanized spell check on this forum code?
Can I get a 'zed zed'?!

I've seen them at the bar in Edmonton when they passed thought town. They must have come right after thier show (10pm?) cause they were in their flight suits and there was no doubt they were snowbirds. It Didnt seem to really impress anyone that i could tell. Anyhow, they put on a good show in the air if not on the ground.

They probably just think a pit crew in red mechanic suits stopped in for some suds after work.

First, take 9 A/C and put them all together about 3-6 feet apart, then get them all going 350 mph. Now, get them all to do a loop, barrel roll, even a 360 degree turn, without breaking up. Now, change from big diamond into big arrow WHILE DOING A LOOP. Split formation next, solos cross over and 7 aircraft return, ALREADY REJOINED, in less than 2 minutes. Continue doing aerobatics, in formation, doing splits, rejoines, different formations for the next 40 minutes. Oh yea, keep the whole works in front of the crowd and along the showline for the whole performance. Mighty impressive. Don't forget about different weather/wind at each performance as well
I challenge any pilot to try and hold a perfect formation like the Snowbirds at 100 kts in 172's in straight and level flight. Not as easy as it looks now is it. Try a turn, really getting challenging now eh? Think about this and re-read first paragragh.
If the Snowbird pilots sometimes seem a bit cocky, good for them, they deserve to be!!!!!!!
P.S. The TB and BA use modern fighters but having seen them i prefer the slower trainers. They can keep the show in front of the crowd better than fast fighters.
Not to take away from the above posting regarding flying formation.
Holding formation in a fast moving jet in a turn is going to be easier than in a 172 actually... you can fly a jet at a 60 degree bank and hold altitude, try that in a 172 for more than a few seconds.
