YVR tops the World
Well I didn't think that with all the construction going on there they would be able to pull this off.

Not that I have anything against YVR, but that glorious 4 star rating, is just the average of the 4 people who had enough spare time to write an opinion on that particular website. 5+5+2+4 = 16 / 4 = 4 star. Actually, if you read further on that site, you'll see numerous complaints.
I guess if I put an opinion up about YYZ, and be the only one, then YYZ will 'officially' be what every star that I decide.

No surprise to me that YVR (Vancouver) wins awards regularly.
Having been to numerous airports all over the world, I find YVR to be a very human airport-- the nice decor and "street-level" pricing policy also play a big role. No other European airports that I have visited even come close, and the only other nice airports (that I have visited) that are even worthwhile mentioning as far as comfort include BKK (where else can you get a nice, inexpensive, hour-long foot massage while you wait) and SIN.
Vancouver also hits the top 10 in the following website: http://www.sleepinginairports.net/ (interestingly, looks like one low-budget fellow managed to stay in the airport for 3 months-- he liked it that much!)
My big two complaints about YVR are the ground transportation to/from the airport. I am talking about no subway or skytrain link to the city, which is just an extention of poor infrastructure planning on behalf of the Vancouver area, as well as no complimentary shuttle linking YVR's South Terminal with the Main Terminal. I believe some Vancouverites class these type of deficiencies as "charming."

Rapid transit will be complete to YVR in 2009. It's elevated guideway around the airport, then subway once you cross the river all the way to down town. 25min trip time.
