Which rating do you think is the most valuable/important/fun/best after receiving a Private or Commercial Pilot License.

all depends on what you want to do, Bush flying you need that Float rating, Airlines, multi IFR, in my opinion VFR OTT is a fairly useless rating, and you get the night with your commercial (actually you get VFR OTT with your commercial too if i'm not mistaken.)

"Most important" is a loaded question with no real answer. Depends on what you want to do.

Multi was the most fun, IMO.

Depends what ya wanna do. And there is no ski rating. And VFROTT is part of the CPL. And so is night. Don't bother getting a float rating unless you plan to be in the bush for a while....the lack of people going that route is really boosting my job security and paycheck. The fewer the better I say.

For safety's sake, I would suggest an IFR (multi or not, whatever) for anyone with ppl or cpl.

The stupid little ifr overview they do in your ppl isn't gonna keep you greasy side down if you do get stuck in the clag.

There is more than enough research and crash data out there proving how dangerous inadvertent flight into imc by untrained pilots is. An ifr will give you the ability to operate safely in a wider variety of conditions, and might just save your life when the WX craps out, whether youre out touring your buddies around or trying to get you bosses 206 home.

IFR for sure... unless you want to fly floats for your life... but eventually if you want to move on then you'll need to get and IFR...

Trust me.... from my experience trying to teach a guy with 1000hrs on floats and IFR is harder than teaching a guy with 150hrs...
