Nice Quote on the bottom Inverted:?

Are there any 737 drivers or AME on this forum who can answer this question??

In Summer 2006, C6 was doing YUL-SXM for Transat Holidays.....
The route was a disaster......The only aircraft that could make SXM was the lone 733 in the fleet. I was told that the 733 was forced to fly 290 feet because the APU was broken??? @ 290 feet, the 733 could not make it direct to SXM so it had to make fuel stop @ NAS..
Ultimately they put the 735. It did not have the range to go direct SXM, so it had to make a fuel stop in NAS also.....Leading to huge delays, pax forced to overnight extra day in SXM, long flights, etc....

What were the specifics with the broken 733 being forced to fly 29,000???

Thanks in advance :D

Just trying to keep the 1000 drive alive!

APU under MEL does not restrict altitude. Maybe it was a pack issue, or an RVSM restricted MEL.

oh, and btw, the incident to St. Maarten had to do with an MEL on the bleed valve. The aircraft was restricted to FL250 and required a fuel stop. The reason for massive delay and overnight in NAS, not SMX, was far more complex. That's the past.

As if........... who cares! My last trip down that way was with AC and it will remain that way. At least with AC if there is a @#$!-up(for whatever reason) and there will be an unavoidable delay AC will send another aircraft and one doesn't have to worry about the payload vs range and get tagged with excessive time/overnight. That is the beauty of going with an airline with good schedules and a healthy mix of planes(wide body and range).

AC?

Post by THEICEMAN »

Since when were we talking about AC???

I'm sure most people would of prefered to fly with AC but the Transat holiday package includes round trip tickets to SXM with C6 only.....

I remeber last year when the PAX arrived in Montreal...they were sooo pissed. I was trying my best to keep a low profile, since I had to do arrivals.....
120 angry Franco Quebecois yelling at my face.....not a good memory...

The following week it almost happened again! But this time C6 decided to pay the curfew fine @ YUL... still a 7 hour flight for PAX.....uhhh

Got anything to add other than your vacation preferences. You're sounding like a broken record Old Fella.
NG's are coming and this company is putting a solid footing in the charter market. Fly AC, I really don't care, but stop bashing CanJet for no reason. The only people who have a true right to bashing CanJet are the affected employees from last year. We've all moved on, one way or another.

I have seen WJ in SXM well before 2006 working Transat charters. I may be wrong but my girlfriend bought a ticket to visit through Transat holidays and ended up flying WJ. This was back in 2003 or 2004 and YYZ was the origin.

Does this have any relevance?

Delighted to hear CJ is getting NGs and if the next stop for them is B787, well go for it. Hope it all works out. I am not bashing CJ - never did. Just commenting that their new adventures in aircraft procurement won’t be on my dime period. Ya need to get the fish hook out of yer mouth!!

Flying Fish-

I was one of those guys and yes......im still pissed. It wasnt only pilots, it was everyone. People who had mortgages, weddings, kids on the way, families to support. Maybe we should mention the amount of guys/ girls that had to move cities to find work again. Most times rooting up the whole family to move somewhere else. Maybe we should mention the amount of sleepless nights and the stress. Of course for those with wives, they really didnt enjoy it either.

And if someone wants to say that they support another airline over yours.....Suck it up! We all have our opinion. Ill never fly C6 again, not only because of the past but for other reasons too.

History will repeat itself and when it does....

I never said that affected only pilots. I knew alot of employees other than pilots who went through that stressful time. Also, I didn't say I wasn't still pissed, I simply look forward and keep my back to the wall. I support the company because of the good people who make it happen and hope that KR simply sells it to another operator where these fears of shutdown are less. I don't even have long term plans there.
As for Old Fella's opinion, you're right, he's got one and entitled to give. It just gets on my nerves to hear people spreading fear and rumours for no good reason. Read his posts, same $h#t over and over again.
Suck it up? No, just giving my OPINIONS.
