Tarana is too big for my likings. Need a place that is nice and slow paced, somewheres where there are good golf courses that don't cost you an arm and a leg to join.
Been in B.C. all my life, time for a change.

I'm moving next month from YQK to YOS. :smt006 My career has allowed me to live beside some "purdy" nice waters. Rainy Lake is still my fav. :) But Owen sound Georgian Bay is calling me and I can hardly wait.

Oh darling, when I am drunk and wearing my girlfriend's skirt, I dream of moving to Vancouver's West End . . . the tree-lined boulevards . . . the diverse restaurants . . . the Bohemian coffee bars . . . the friendly neighbors like Frank, and Jack, and Bob. . .

But when I'm sober, any Canadian airport's International Departure waiting area sounds good.

I did have a choice, and I took it, and I still love where I live.

I've been fortunate enough to have travelled all over the world, and still do, even with a three-year-old. There are some amazing places out there, but I'm still convinced Canada is the best place on earth, and BC is the best part of Canada, and my little corner of BC is tops. It just works for me: the town is not too big, but we don't really lack for anything (Maceo Parker just played here!), pretty self sufficient and secure (I've definitely got a few 'armageddon' issues), culturally and generationally diverse populace, with real estate that isn't out of the stratosphere.

When I'm done travelling, I love to come home!

Tids - you've broken the West kootenay code.....

Never, ever. ever. ever tell The Rest Of Canada what theyre missing!

Now they'll all want to live there.

When I lived out there I had an extra key cut for my car so I could leave one in the ignition and never have to worry about dragging a keychain around.... that tells you a little about the crime rate.

The Queen city has my vote for No 1, close second to the Annapolis valley in NS.

5400 (why does that address seem so familiar :? ),

I hate to break it to ya, but the word's already getting out. I'm just doing my best to stack the population with some 'respectable' folks, and while pilots trolling on Avcanada may not really qualify, they're still a step up on the dirty, lazy croppers we seem to have a plethora of around here now!

Don't get me wrong, this place is still a utopia. When I tell my friends back in cow-town that I'm more worried about the bears and cougars than the freaks and creeps on my daughter's walk to school, they just don't really get it.

Glad I made the choices I did and when I made them. I would quit aviation before I had to move myself and my family from this community.

Bandaid, I hear from some of the "older" folks that Lethbridge is nice too, if you really must leave BC (Bring Cash!).
