What is with this minimum pay bullshit. If you are from the Lower Mainland of B.C., they do not pay you, you pay them
OOPS!!! Sorry, those companies went broke and have yet to resurface, I think.

The average pilot, despite the somewhat swaggering exterior, is very much capable of such feelings as love, affection, intimacy and caring.
These feelings just don't involve anyone else.

Doc...a couple of the main people behind one of those ZBB based companies have resurfaced in a current YVR navajo operator....oldtimer wrote:What is with this minimum pay bullshit. If you are from the Lower Mainland of B.C., they do not pay you, you pay them

you newbies on the west coast....don't sell your souls!
Nope, there's enough of you out there who have done it and it continues. We still get resumes of people who will fly for free. This is because there are lot's out there who have done it before. We have to rid this industry of this problem but we cant until we get everyone who has done it to admit it and say it's wrong. I know this will never happen here cause you are all too chicken to admit that you did it.. But, It won't change until you do. Suck it up and take one for the team.. Tell the newbies why it's wrong..2R wrote:Has the pool of volunteer pilots not dried up yet ???
BTW, I can start to name people who have done it if they don't do it on their own.. Think about it AC and Jazz folks..

I can just see some Jazz pilots getting a phone call in the middle of the night, with Twotter on the other end... deep breathing... "I know what you did last Summer..."
I don't think it would quite get to that. However, with the industry shitting all over people who have done it, I think it would be best it some of these people who have gone on to AC and Jazz came out and said that they were wrong.Kelowna Pilot wrote:Nope, there's enough of you out there who have done it and it continues. Twotter. like that's gonna happen. And Kelownapilot thanks for that, damn near cracked me up.
There will always be some chump who will fly for free, and there will always be some bottom feeder operator seeing it as a good cost saving measure.
Don't get me wrong, I cringe at the topic, but whuddya do?

Every resume that comes across my desk saying something to the effect of "will fly for free" or "will pay for checkout" get their own special pile in which I tell all my other buddies NOT to hire these scabs.
This business is small it's about time we use it's size for the good of the many. Pilots are their own worst enemies.

These are supposed to be the 'good times', and yet people are still working for free, paying to work for free? Huh?Would hanging the morons who fly for nothing be the wrong answer here?
The solution is for pilots to organize and regulate the profession, restrict entrance, control numbers.
The current system where anyone with a heartbeat and a bank loan can get a CPL MIFR is why the term 'race to the bottom' is often used to describe conditions for pilots.

While you're at it, you should also add the names of all Air Canada new hires who agree to work for $39,000 per year.I think there should be a wall of shame on here and you operators that recieve those resume should post them in here so everyone can see
And as for the CMA FO's who work for, what is it, $22,000 per year... well, they be sent to the equivalent of "John School".

That wouldn't happen to be "A whale" of an operator would it?northernpilot wrote:Doc...a couple of the main people behind one of those ZBB based companies have resurfaced in a current YVR navajo operator....oldtimer wrote:What is with this minimum pay bullshit. My "short" experience in this industry has thus far told me:
There are plenty of jobs out there, if someone needs to go to one of these operators then there is a good reason no one else has hired them yet...
