Instructor Rating....... where can I work?
I am just a student now, but want to get a Instructor Rating after I complete my CPL. I want to find a job outside of Canada, but where can I go? Which country can I work for? And I have only a Canadian passport.......

China is Great
Working in China has its moments just like anywhere, but I do recommend it to anyone who is interested in a new experience. The company I work for has a new offer where they will pay for your instructors rating. This is a good opportunity to get some experience that is hard to find in the west. All of our aircraft are new with glass cockpits and lots of IFR flying here in China. If you are interested in more details, please message me.

Yeah, the pollution can do thatlots of IFR flying here in China
I'd only go to China if you have a Buddist personality. I've worked for Asians before (real ones, not the North Americanized ones), and I'll never work for Asians again so long as I live.
Their way of thinking and seeing is so different from ours that it just becomes irrating very quickly dealing with them. It's very rare to find a westerner who has lived in Asia for a long time who has a favorable impression of the Asian business style.
The women are great, though.
I would make a quick search on PPRUNE as additional research. I had came across a thread on that forum regarding instructing in China. Two details stands out from my memory: 1. they make you turn in your passport so basically you can't just quit and leave without some sort of penalty. 2. unprofessional & unsafe environment to work in, more so than what some have seen in North American operations.
China seems to be the best place to go for Canadian instructors. I think the name of the company is Pan Am International or something like that. Also when my brother was looking for a job, there were some schools in Malaysia that were interested in Canadian pilots. The Malaysian schools do a lot of training for Indians... but then again so do Canadian schools.

With so much work to do here, I think that the wages have to go up and then the China option will become less appealing.
I took the Chinese option, and had serious disagreements over the SOPs with my American boss... China is not Texas nor Arizona.
It was highly stressful and not worth the $3,000 USD tax free I was paid to work in that country.
I've had offers of $4,200 a month and "Name your price" from schools in China.
No way.
Stress combined with pollution is not worth it.
On the other hand, Baotou in Inner Mongolia is not a bad place to be.
The mountains cut off the pollution from the rest of China, and there's clean air off the Gobi.
If I had been employed at Baotou from the start I might not have given my notice in.
The man from Texas, who I can not work with, has already left and so perhaps the culture there will be somewhat better.
Thailand was fun, and likewise I like Buddhist culture, it was easy enough.
Thailand was not about money but all about quality of life, a very human place to be.
But things are beginning to look up here in Canada... Perhaps instructing can be a satisfactory career here in the future.

Good to here from you Mr. P...yes your right MR. Texas is gone and Baotou is awesome. Food, people, living conditions, air, ops, women and everything here is much better then the other training locations in China. The money is ok for most, but I would say that China isn't for everyone. Things are much better now. It would be nice to see u back.
Because I used to work there and that's my opinion. If you read the PPRUNE comments you will gain more insight.Ralliart - why do you not suggest that one school?
It has been over a year since I left. I'm no longer interested in posting general info about Panam as there are many others who carry that torch now.
I do, however, occasionally post the link to where you can read up on this info if someone asks about Panam because I think you should hear about it if you are interested.
I'm glad I visited China when I did and I do hope to return to China sometime to see more of the country and culture as a tourist.
