Buddy of mine looked into this, So apparently what you want to do is get your Canadian CPL fixed wing, do the FAA conversion to make it an FAA CPL. Then go to Florida (no idea what the school was called he was looking at.) Do the FAA CPL fixed wing to Rotary wing conversion. Then do the FAA to TC CPL Rotary conversion. He figured it would cost him ~$8,000 to get legal in Canada…

correct me if I am wrong:
Heli CPL FAA; you need 150hr
Heli CPL Canada; you need 100hr

so how exactly does this conversion from FW CPL FAA to Rotary CPL FAA works??? how many hours do you need?? In Canada you need 60hr, but in the US maybe more?

But, at the end of the day, will it get you a job?? Hours is hours, especially in something as hands-on as a helicopter..

Why florida?? Some great flight schools in the midwest, and the living is way cheaper. Lots of training here at Johnson County Executive airport near Kansas City. Link below, but I think you'll have to cut and paste.
