Embry Riddell @ Georgian College
http://www.amtonline.com/article/articl ... =1&id=4541
Georgian College and Embry have announced that their students who graduate the 3 year Aviation Management diploma program can now receive a Bachelor of Science degree from Embry Riddell at the Barrie Campus.
3 years of College tuition + 1 year of univeristy tuition can turn into a Bachelor of Science degree in Technical Management from the most recognized Aviation Institute in the world.
The current 3 year diploma program has 3 semesters of paid co-op and with Lake Simcoe Regional Airport only a 10 minute drive from the school I think it's time Georgian started hitting the radar for a lot more younger people thinking about a career in aviation.
Anyone who wants more information PM me or follow the contact info provided in the article.
More info about the Georgian Program is in this website.

I was pointing out that LSR was 10 minutes away more to say that there are two top notch flight training units there. Future Air and Canadian Flyers.
As for co-ops, the GTAA is taking less and less but that is a good thing. Georgian Grads are everywhere in the world working right now, India, Emirates, Australia, US, Carribean and in Canada we have co-ops in Calgary, Vancouver, Halifax, Ottawa, Montreal and Toronto, companies like Flight Safety, Landmark, Skyservice, Air Canada, Ottawa Airport Authority, Calgary Airport Authority, Nav Canada, Transport Canada, Zoom Airlines, Brampton Flying Club, Muskoka Airport. (Just a small few of the many employeers)
Young pilots who don't want to go through Sault or Seneca and want Degree options at the end of their education can pay for flight training and make amazing industry contacts through co-ops and turn their flight training into some serious job opportunities....especially the way the job market is now. And it takes the same amount of time.
Some Pro's to Georgian are that you don't have to put up with Political BS that goes along with a governement funded flight programs, your still 45 minutes from Toronto and not 7 hours from your family and friends. The faculty is amazing to and college staff is top notch.
And ERAU is here for good, Press Conference on Oct 9th and another presentation at T1 at Pearson to follow, Georgian College's program has never been stronger.
Anyways, just some food for thought to those considering post secondary education.

Re: Embry Riddell @ Georgian College
I am in the first year of the program (and absolutely loving it) and am considering doing the Embry-Riddle program. My only concern is that is it really worth $10,000 USD? How important is having the Embry Riddle degree? If I make good connections during my 3 co-op terms will I really need the degree beside my name? Sure, it helps but is it really worth the $10,000 USD? In the last few weeks we have met a few people with the IAAE in Canada and several others from TC and the GTAA. A lot of them were grads and look at them now!
Just to add, the IAAE Canada is planning to start a student chapter and they are promoting it at Georgian.
