Looking to do MIFR in eastern Ont

Looking to do MIFR in eastern Ont
Can anyone help out with a few schools that offer this and give a recommendation. I know there's a place in Cornwall, pretty sure there has to be a couple in Ottawa. What about Kingston/Belleville/Peterborough? I can stay in either Brockville or Belleville.
Kingston not so good, only 1 of the flying clubs there has a multi - i think its an aztec - and they just got it out of storage... its owned by Ontario Fun Flyers... google them and give 'em a shout, they might have it back online by now.
Central Airways in Kingston might have something, i just dont know... as for Kingston Flying club, i think they're just cessnas...

In eastern Ontario:
Cornwall has 2 seminoles.
Ottawa has 1 duchess - http://www.ofc.ca
Deseronto used to have a C310, but I'm
not sure they will do walk-in flight training - I
think they mostly do subsidized college stuff.
Unless someone else is paying, I would stay away
from the bigger twins (aztec, baron, 310) with
the 6 cylinder engines. You can get the 4 cylinder
twins (duchess, seminole, comanche, apache)
much cheaper - lower maintenance cost.
The 4 cylinder twins make lousy charter aircraft,
for several reasons. They're really only good for
training.
The 6 cylinder twins are much better for charter
but make overly expensive training aircraft.

Quieter airport, no ATC vectoring you all around the entire Ottawa area to get in one approach (you still have to go visit Montreal or Ottawa for a precision approach if needed,) cheap accommodation.
I don't know how things are there now, but I did my multi & multi-IFR in a few days with them about 4 yrs ago and was quite happy with them - they recommended an inexpensive motel and there was no bullsh!t with the training. I did a renewal there maybe 2 years ago and same thing - very pleased.

Single ("Group 3") and multi IFR (Group 1) are 2 different things.
You don't need a single IFR to do a multi - a MIFR will allow you to fly singles IFR as well.
However, you CAN do most of your IFR training on a single and in the sim (saves $$$!) and then jump over to the twin, do the multi rating, then finish up your IFR on the twin.
I know one guy who went from no IFR to a multi-IFR in about a month and a half (while instructing full time) but every case is different. I went in with a single IFR (there was no point doing a MIFR - the school I taught at didn't have a twin, and at that stage of the game the industry was stagnant so I decided to wait til my renewal to do the MIFR) and did all the multi stuff in 3 days.

If you go to Cornwall, it's a good idea to familiarize yourself with the garmin 430. There is a simulator on the Garmin website. I went to Cornwall after doing all of my sim time and ifr training at another school, and the gps was the only thing that gave me trouble.....But once you've got it, there's nothing easier!
Cornwall aviation apparently has a good operation.

Now the golden question is? Do they have good/experinced multi/IFR instructors?
Experienced instructors is a rare commodity here in the Montreal region.
People are still moving up really fast & are getting replaced by class IVs.
At cargair in CYHU, all the instructors are going to be teaching multi so they can move up to MAX avaition in the near future.

FYI, I stopped in to the flight school in Deseronto a couple years ago looking at doing an instructor rating there and they were happy to accommodate me but made it clear I would be second to the college students. They had a few twins and their prices seemed decent. May be worth a call.
