Alberta Central Airways
Trying to get any information on Alberta Central Airways. Runnung Medevac out of Grande Prairie. No website found, does anyone have any info on this company. Need info ASAP. Thanks
Have fun, fly safe, remember where you came from.
I do not know that much about the company operation or such things as pay structure but I have known the owner for many years an he is a fine honourable gentleman wo treats his pilots very well. Everyone who as ever had anything to do with the owner has had nothing but good things to say about him
The average pilot, despite the somewhat swaggering exterior, is very much capable of such feelings as love, affection, intimacy and caring.
These feelings just don't involve anyone else.

Seems these days itswhat kind of hours are their pilots gettin per month? anyone know?
60 in the plane......100 in their log books, although in all fairness the logbook time includes PIC time logged as a passanger
That is a question I love to hear in the interview.. how fast can I get my ticket punched for the next job..right?

Great company, great people, great schedule. I'd go back to work for the "Big W" any time. I spent a little over 2 years there and enjoyed the company a lot. YLB...not so much but hey, good with the bad right?
YQU sometimes does their own hiring, sometimes not. I'll PM you the base manager's name but you'll have to look up his contact info. Do well there, and they'll always be in your corner, even if they can't upgrade you they'll always give you a good reference years later.

Alberta Central Airways, good times, great people and excellent equipment, spent close to 5 years of my life there, and would do it all over agian. it lead to a great jet jobs, and then the airlines.
It would be really hard to find anyone to say anything bad about ACA.
ACA, a real stand up company.

no need for PM's co-joe, it's all on PCC http://www.pilotcareercentre.com/
I worked there as well for 3 years and a bit. I wasn't on the med-evac side, but flew the twin otter out of Athabasca. Wendel treats his people right. Great pay, great schedule (and you are paid generous overtime if you're called on your week off, charter side anyway). I too would work there again in a heartbeat. Met some of the closest friends I've made in aviation there. And not many people have moved on from there for anything smaller than 705 or corporate work. Take the job!!
Cheers,

Ahhh...ACA. Great company, good management, experienced captains, good money, good equipment, no bond. Possibly the best operation for that type of flying out West. The only downside that I can see is the lack of upgrade opportunity.
Wish I had stayed longer...
But a great place to work!

I worked there with both Looproll and Switch.
Both of them hit it on the head. Stand up guys, good equipment, and probably the best owner of an aviation-related company EVER. The family you would be working for are some of the best people I've encountered in this industry. If you are thinking about moving to GP (and you should, it's pretty good for Northern country), this is the company to work for. No real chance for an upgrade...true...but that's because the Captains all want to retire there. They want to retire with the company for a reason...trust me.
You can expect to get about 500 or so hours a year, great experience flying into a variety of strips, and more hand flying than you can shake a stick at (loop and switch know what I'm talking about...manual trim anyone? Gotta love the 1300...).
Have I said enough? Oh, the pay is good too relative to other operators.
Cheers, you won't regret it!

SSSHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You are all letting the secret out!! Now they will be over run with shiny new resume's.
I spent 7 years of my short
life there and don't regret a minute of it. I agree with everyone's posts here. Great place but be patient if your trying to time build. Oh yeah, if you are a tool, don't bother. The company has a great reputation because it tries to only hire good people. Those that don't measure up are soon gone. Don't waste your time. If your are cool, well then, give er! Good luck!
