AIRBUS press release #1
Issued at 15 November 2007, 20:15

Accident at Saint-Martin Airbus site

Toulouse: Airbus deeply regrets to confirm that an accident occurred at its Saint-Martin site in Toulouse this afternoon.

The accident occurred at 5:00 pm local time, when engine-run-ups were being carried out on an A340-600, MSN 856, which was due to be delivered to Etihad in the coming days.

There were nine persons on board out of them five people sustained injuries. There are no fatalities.

At this time, recovery operations are still in progress and Airbus staff is working closely with the emergency services and local authorities at the site.

Airbus expresses its sympathy to the families and friends of the persons concerned.

Airbus will provide the full support to the official investigation authorities in France.
Thankfully nobody killed, but I imagine at least ONE of them is now out of a job!

that looks expensive... (pretty much my standard opinion)

Sounds like someone either failed to stop or the braking went out the window. Either way, I suspect that there is going to be a manure / prop moment coming up.

What is Etihad gonna do now?

Are they gonna have to scrap the airplane & build new one?

Maurice Richard scored most of his goals while REAL Canadians were out of the league fighting in WW2.

Ok you know what! This thread is about the A346.....

You want to attack one of the greatest hockey players of all time..fine!

If your a Leafs fan.....who did they ever have??? Daryl Sitler? PLZ, what did he ever accomplish? His jersey would never be anywhere close to being retired here!

Ask some of the veterans who have been watching hockey for 80 years...they will tell you that Richard was incredible. By far the best they have ever seen!

You can't attack the Habs....I'm sorry! They are hockey's greatest franchise...they define hockey glory! They were even sent to play the soviets! Going on 100 years of franchise history!
Last team to win the cup in Canada...:smt075

Hello & wake up! It's in colour & it was not that long ago!

Now back to the A346..

I wonder how much of a discount Etihad is gonna get?

Uhh, sorry... when were the Habs sent to play the Soviets? I agree that the respective team accomplishments make it difficult for a Leafs fan to insult a Habs fan!

Ya but the guy holding the cup refused to play for the Canadian Olympic Team unless he was guaranteed starter goalie...

theiceman,

Nope, the Habs weren't sent to play the Soviets. Central Red Army (and Soviet Wings) came to North America and played a series of NHL teams in '75-'76. Red Army's games against the Habs and Flyers are the most memorable. Get the facts!!

The other kind,

How the hell did a post about a maintenance accident become a discussion about the greatest NHL team ever created?

For what it's "worth" Forbes just named the Leafs the most valueable NHL franchise even though Sir Stanley hasn't been to town since '67...
