CDN license

Hi guys!

Im going to dubai (united arab emirates) for couple of weeks, and I was just wondering if I can rent a plane wit my CDN license.... or do I have to convert my license?

You should be able to rent with any license at all. In fact you don't even need a license to rent. However you most likely will not able to act as PIC with your Canadian license. A buddy of mine rented a plane in Australia but had to fly with an instructor because he only had his CDN cpl.

My experience in Soth America is that they will accept the Cnd licence but most countries require a lot of paper work before you are allowed PIC privileges . Get in touch with the UAE embassy and enquire how to get in touch with their Civil Aviation authority ,they probably have a web site with info on what is needed .Good luck

Look into it before hand but I'd bet if you went to a FSDO (sp?) and picked up as US license it would be easier.
