AME pay scales

Post by airjetmech »

If we are looking to increase awareness of AME wages... how about some company pay scales.
ie; Transat 2007/11/01 top rate AME $73,607 = $35.38
Anyone enlighten us on Cargo Jet, Sky Service, Porter, CanJet, First Air, Bearskin??

Does anyone have wage info on Maintenance Management positions?
Example: Production Manager, Quality Assurance Manager, DOM

How about QA Inspector and Supervisor wages?

These are hard to find and most companies do not disclose them.

I've seen and had offers for both PM and QM positions ranging from 75K to Low 80"s.
DOM would be not much less than 100K.

Depends where you are working. I know DOM's that if you add up all the cell calls, late nights, and missed weekends cause they have to put out percieved fires end up making less then the guy on the floor per hour.
Then there is also location. Probably a DOM in Vancouver would make 100G's but I seriously doubt a DOM in say PA would earn the same. Probably make closer to 70,G a year.
I can't be quoted on those numbers as I don't know what they make in either place, but I assume that would be one difference.
What about AMO owners. (Their married to the Job! )

I've seen flight schools DoM at 80K, airline DoM 90K and up, company car, bonus etc. Hard to say, might be bit higher or lower. Big Boyz club,
KFC, AirTran, First Air over 90K for sure

My last two DOM's made less then 60 G's when the dust settled when you count all the cell calls and late nights that were all work related.
They mad a salary rather then hourly so of course on paper it says 80,000 but that is if you did 40 hours a 7 day week. And as all managers know seeing those kind of days went the way of the dodo bird when they left the floor for management. (If you look close in their eye you'll see they envy you pions on the floor that leave work after the shift is over!

I am a licensed AME (3years now) just was appointed qa manager 8 months ago. making $29/hr I am quite pleased with this because I work in GA Mon-Fri 8-430. Keep in mind I was only offered $27, then asked for $32.................agreed on the $29. We all need to negotiate wages, dont just take whats offered.
Our lowest guy makes $25, DOM makes $34
