Jazz PFO

Post by jackfm »

A few days after the interview, here's the Jazz PFO I received via email.

"Thank you for taking the time to participate in the recruitment process for the position of First Officer, Flight Operations, Air Canada Jazz.

In evaluating a large group of strong candidates, we have made the difficult decision to proceed with other candidates whose background, qualifications and experiences are more closely suited to the requirements of the position. Therefore, your application will not progress to the next stage of the recruitment process.

We thank you for your time and interest in this job competition and wish you all the best in your flying career"

Are there different types of PFO's? I thought the interview went well. So this has caught me by surprise that's for sure. Do you think it might have be references? And how long until reapplying?

I really want this job.

Still waiting here.

P.S. Is it just me, or does it seem, more often than not, that topics started here kinda get "off the topic"? Just a thought.

To answer your question, I think that it's safe to assume that you will not be invited to the SIM evaluation. Having said that, I also don't think that all is lost and you should definitely reapply. AC says to wait 6 months before reapplying so I would imagine that may also be the case at Jazz. My recomndation would be to apply again in 6 months. You say that you really want the job, but remember that there are a lot of great companies out there and I know of many great pilots that don't get hired by the majors. Good luck.

Keep your resume up to date online,

I know of a few people who have been offered a second interview a year after the PFO from Jazz.

On the flip side most of them turned down the second interview because something better came along in the meantime.

goodluck

Thanks for the replies. I gave Sonya a call today and she send me a pdf of what they are looking for at the interview. No feedback as to why not, or what went wrong exactly. However she did say to keep the workopolis up to date. Sometimes it's less than 6 mos. She was helpful.

and to add to the previous post...a very nice person Sonia is. If half of the Jazz employees are half as nice as her...I would almost be convinced to leave my present position and finish my flying career at Jazz. Very much a first class operation, as representation would suggest.
