Borek has some of the best maintenance in the TO world next to BAS. Your post has no context and thus irrelevant.

Very interesting indeed. First post and you slander KBA. Obviously you are a disgruntled KBA employee. Grow up!

One thing that is NOT wrong with KBA is the maintenance.

Edited.

My opinion of Borek is not nearly as high most of the others here. But I've decided that it isn't worth further discussion.

Anyone who worked out of YFB a few (maybe 4 or 5?) years ago care to comment?

No I haven't worked for them, but I have many friends who have.

I worked out of YFB a few years ago and the maintenance was as good as it could be under the circumstance. Sure Jabba the Hut intercepted a few parts requests and scrapped them but eventually shit got fixed. Considering that they can either fit one otter or two king airs (but not both) into that hangar (read: tent) they do a great job. I totally respect maintenance there and the best most unusual part is that KBA maintenance respects their pilots.

Nowhere else can you find engineers who actually ask pilots what they think the problem is. They actually listen to what the pilots say and try to trust their systems knowledge to locate snags. It goes both ways, KBA's ground and systems training is top notch. When you loose 100 pilots a year for years and years you get pretty good at training the new hires efficiently and effectively.

KBAL MTCE

Post by Stubby »

I was at KBAL for 11 years.

VERY GOOD MTCE. The mtce guys are very good people and are always there to help or assist or advise...

Aaand all the crews have good crm, read pilot to engineer and engineer to pilot lines of comms are open. which makes for good problem solving.

Please don't be slagging the boyz, as you are sowing what you want to reap. or in general terms, "what goes around, comes around".

Happy Landings
(read no stn 60's,.. lol).

As everyone knows I have my issues with the way Borek treats some people and haven't always had the greatest things to say about Borek but one thing I would never agree with is Borek havng poor maint. Great people, Great engineers.
